Ad Policy
Ads stay clearly separated
Local Bins uses first-party sponsor cards and Google AdMob network ads in labelled slots after the core utility content.
How Sponsor Cards Work
- Local Bins is not an ACT Government app. Bin schedule data comes from ACT Government Open Data.
- Selected suburb, companion preferences, and reminder settings are stored on-device.
- First-party sponsor cards are contextual by selected place/screen and never use precise GPS, IDFA, or cross-app tracking.
- Users can hide/report sponsor cards in the app.
- Schedule issue reports, coverage requests, ad reports, and optional contact email are sent only when the user submits them.
- Local businesses can ask about sponsor availability on the Sponsor page.
AdMob Network Ads
AdMob ads are served by Google in separate labelled network-ad slots. Google may process device, app, and ad interaction data to serve and measure network ads. Local Bins does not use precise GPS, IDFA, or cross-app tracking for first-party sponsor-card targeting.
Restricted Placement
Sponsor cards should not obscure bin schedules, privacy controls, reports, source confidence, or official-service guidance. For missed/damaged/missing bins, users should use the official ACT service path.
